Welch's Grape Soda is a flavor of Welch's soda.

History[]

The Welch's company was originally founded in 1869, specializing in fruits and fruit products such as juices.

In 1974, Welch's released their first soda flavor, which was Grape soda. Overtime, the Welch's company began to release more flavors such as Orange and Strawberry. This was until 1981 when Welch's sold their soft drink rights to the Dr Pepper company. Due to a series of mergers and acquisitions, Welch's (along with their parent company Dr Pepper) changed hands several times, being owned by Dr Pepper/7 Up Inc, Canbury Schwepps, and finally, Dr Pepper Snapple Group, who discontinued the entire Welch's soda brand in 2012.

In 2015, possibly due to popular demand by customers, the Welch's soda line was relaunched, with several different flavors, which include the original Grape soda variant. However, the relaunch and current iteration of the brand is completely unaffiliated to it's former parent company Dr Pepper Snapple Group (now known as Keurig Dr Pepper)
