History[]

Background[]

In the 1980s-2000s, a trend known as the "Clear Craze" occurred, which was when companies made clear versions of their products. Among those products was PepsiCo's Crystal Pepsi, released in 1992. but Coke's company invented TaB Clear.

Release[]

In the same year Crystal Pepsi was made, the Coca-Cola Company released TaB Clear, a clear variant of the diet soda TaB, as a response to the release of Crystal Pepsi. Although seeing an initially positive reception, it was discontinued two years later, possibly due to low sales. Coincidentally, Crystal Pepsi also disappeared around this time.
