Howard Johnson's was originally a chain of restaurants as well as hotels. They would later start to sell select food items in grocery stores, such as frozen macaroni & cheese.

Howard Johnson's can soda started to be advertised by supermarkets in 1968, with no known advertisements as of 1977.

The brand had several different flavors, including Basic Cola, Orange, Grape, Cream Soda, Ginger Ale, Root Beer, as well as a Diet Cola variant.

The last Howard Johnson's restaurant was closed in 2022, and the supermarket items (Macaroni & Cheese, Soda, etc.) have since been long gone, with the only thing currently remaining from the brand is the hotel chain, which is currently owned and operated by the Wyndham.
