Fanta Orange is the main Fanta flavor created in 1955 in Naples, the regional capital of Campania in Italy. It quickly reached a high reputation and has been responsible for an innovational 200+ fruity flavors in various countries.
While Fanta Orange isn't the original flavor, it is the flavor that relaunched the brand altogether. Fanta Orange is an orange flavor of Fanta that contains a high amount of orange juice, varying from country to country.

After the launch of various drinks by PepsiCo in the early 1950s, Coca-Cola soon relaunched the Fanta brand in Naples, Italy, developed using 100% Italian orange juice to formulate an orange drink called Fanta Orange in 1955.
After a few years of its release in Italy, it was an instant hit amongst almost everyone who comes upon this wonderful Fanta flavor, leading to a massive cult following in the following years. As a result, it led other countries to do the same in their part by establishing a line of different Fanta flavors.
After the Fanta brand was established in several international countries, by 1969, it reached peak popularity, becoming the best-selling flavor in the newly introduced countries. Since 1969, Fanta Orange became the sole important flavor of the Fanta brand.
After the vast amount of success of Fanta Orange, Coca-Cola's international divisions were inspired by the success of its popularity to develop some other new Fanta flavors. The long-term success leads to a gradual expansion of new flavors to its lineup in most countries, leading to the 200+ flavors of Fanta occurring around the world. If this Orange flavor didn't get made in the first place, its popularity wouldn't be the same without it.

- When Fanta Orange was first released in the United States in 1960, an original lineup was released. This lineup consisted of Orange Soda, Ginger Ale, Root Beer, Lemon-Lime Soda, and Imitation Grape Soda.
- Like the Fanta brand, there are two brands somewhat similar to Fanta, almost but didn't maintain a high level of popularity, those being Crush and Sunkist.
- As mentioned earlier, Fanta has more than 200 flavors.
