Fanta Grape (originally named Imitation Grape Soda), alongside other flavors: Orange Soda, Ginger Ale, Root Beer, Lemon-Lime Soda was first released in the United States in 1960 in the original lineup.
After its few years in the United States, its popularity surged, becoming Fanta's more known flavors in the original lineup in the United States. Other lesser-known flavors: Ginger Ale, Root Beer, Lemon-Lime, didn't have the chance to be admired compared to Fanta Grape and Fanta Orange, where all those previously mentioned flavors eventually one by one discontinued during their lifespans.
In 2002, in the United States, Fanta Grape, alongside other flavors: Fanta Orange, Fanta Pineapple, Fanta Strawberry was highly promoted by spoke-ladies named "The Fantanas." After advertising the four core flavors of its Fanta brand, its popularity soared, leaving the popularity of the four flavors steady in demand for many years.
