Citra is a brand of Lemon-Lime flavored soda sold in the country of India.
History[]
Citra was originally introduced sometime in the 1980's by Parle (now known as Bisleri), a manufacturer of bottled water which also owned several different soda brands throughout the country. In 1993, Parle sold all of their soda brands, including Citra, to The Coca-Cola Company, most likely in an attempt to focus more on their water sales.
The Citra brand was discontinued in 2000 due to the introduction of Sprite into the country, which appeared to be a more profitable and well known Lemon-Lime brand.
The Citra brand was brought back in 2012, though only in some areas of India.
Coca-Cola introduced a brand of soda in the United States also called Citra, though it was completely unrelated and only shared the same name.
