7 Up Antioxidant was a brand of 7 Up flavors with antioxidant that was introduced in 2007 by Keurig Dr. Pepper.

Description[]

All flavors of the 7 Up Antioxidant brand contained Vitamin E in it. Despite inferring that the flavors had antioxidants from the fruits, no juices were added to the drink.

Some of the flavors from the original brand was also reformulated to be in the brand, such as 7 Up Cherry.

History[]

The 7 Up Antioxidant brand was released in 2007. After months or even years after the release of the antioxidant brand, some additional flavors were introduced in later years in stages every two years such as 7 Up Pomegranate and Diet 7 Up Pomegranate in 2007, 7 Up Cherry and Diet 7 Up Cherry in 2009, and 7 Up Mixed Berry and Diet 7 Up Mixed Berry in 2011.

Lawsuit[]

In 2012, Keurig Dr. Pepper was sued for allegedly misleading consumers to believe that the antioxidants came from fruits in the soda even though fruit juice was not in it.

During this time, Keurig Dr. Pepper announced that they were reformulating 7 Up Cherry back to the original formula, although this was not related to the lawsuit. 7 Up Cherry was changed back to its original formula by 2013, while the Antioxidant flavors were discontinued at this time.
